Read moreThis is a small, friendly music festival featuring traditional folk instruments (such as fiddle, guitar, and dulcimer) held in Midland, MI at the fairgrounds there. Workshops (including ones on clogging, Celtic guitar songs and tunes, using a tablet for music, and a sloth (super slow) jam) , jamming, performances and vendors are all part of the fun. They've invited me to teach again this year as well as perform in the Saturday night stage show. I'm looking forward to teaching "Hark the Herald Angels Sing" to intermediate hammered dulcimer players and the "Still Night Medley" to advanced hammered dulcimer players as well as an arrangement of "Tis So Sweet" to any and all instruments who want to attend. I'm hoping to participate in vendor sales again this year. The entrance fee is $10 for both days (Midland Folk Music Society Members are $5) and camping is available for $25 a night, no reservations required.
